1. Program Details and Stay Duration for Students under the Mentioned Scholarship Programs:
(1) U.S. Department of State NSLI-Y High School Scholarship Program: Students will study in Taiwan from late June to mid-August 2025.
(2) U.S. Department of State CLS Undergraduate Critical Language Scholarship Program: Students will study in Taiwan from mid-June to mid-August 2025.
(3) U.S. TISLP Taiwan Intensive Summer Language Program: Students will experience a homestay from July 19 to 20, 2025.
(4) Tamkang University Pilot Program & University of Mississippi Pilot Program: Students will participate in a homestay experience (daytime only) on July 19, 2025.
2. Purpose of Seeking Host Families:
To promote cultural exchange between American students and local Taiwanese families during their study period, helping students enhance their ability to use Mandarin in daily life. This initiative provides Taiwanese families with the opportunity to learn about diverse customs and cultures by opening their homes to American students.
3. Host Family Requirements:
(1) Hosting Period: Flexible options available between mid-June and mid-August 2025.
(2) Participants: NSLI-Y high school students, CLS undergraduate students, TISLP students, Tamkang University Pilot Program students, and University of Mississippi students.
(3) Location: Taipei and New Taipei City, with preference for Tamsui, Guandu, Beitou, and Shilin areas.
(4) Conditions: Provide students with an independent room or single bed (bunk beds are acceptable), meals, and opportunities to join family outings.
4. Host Family Stipends:
(1) NSLI-Y (High School Students): Approximately six weeks, NTD 1,200 per day (including meals and outings).
(2) CLS (Undergraduate Students): Choose to host either Group A (first three weeks) or Group B (last three weeks), NTD 1,200 per day (including meals).
(3) TISLP (Undergraduate Students): July 19-20, 2025, NTD 2,400 total (including meals and outings).
(4) Tamkang University Pilot Program & University of Mississippi Pilot Program (Undergraduate Students): July 19, 2025, NTD 600 total (including outings).
